Home tract: Gonggar, Nedong, Lhunze, Xigaze, Gyangze and Bainang County, Nujiang, Lianchangjiang and Jinshan rives valley, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Morphological Characters

Body: Small body size, compact body structure. Constitution: firm, dryness.

Body coat: Black, gray are the most common colours. “Grey donkey” have transverse stripe, zebra stripe.

Mophometric traits

Body height at withers: Male 98.7 cm, female 98.8 cm

Reproductive traits

Age at sexual maturity: 3 years old.

Age at first mating: 4 years old.

Production traits

They are good at working and can be used to carry, draft, and ride.

Packing power: female 100 kg

Carrying capacity: male 100 kg

Uses: Good adaptability; cold resistant; disease-resistant.
