Yersinia pseudotuberculosis in Birds

Pseudotuberculosis is a contagious disease of domesticated and wild birds caused by Yersinia pseudotuberculosis characterized by acute Septicaemia followed by focal infection.

Species affected: Avian

Symptoms: Anorexia (complete, partial); Ataxia (incoordination, staggering, falling); Diarrhoea; Dullness, depression, lethargy, depressed, lethargic, listless; Dyspnoea; Generalized weakness (paresis, paralysis); Increased mortality in flocks of birds; Hyperpnoea; Lameness (stiffness, stilted gait) in birds; Ruffled feathers; Soiling of feathers, vent feathers; Soiling of the vent in birds; Sudden death, found dead; Underweight (poor condition, thin, emaciated, unthriftiness, ill thrift); Weakness (paresis, paralysis) of legs, limbs in birds; Weakness (paresis, paralysis, drooping) of the wings; Weight loss;
