Sulfer, Sulfur, S
Sulfur is present in three amino acids. Methionine, cystine and cysteine and thus it is present in all proteins in the body. Connective tissue, skin, hair and nails are especially rich in sulfur. Also thiamine and biotin and coenzyme A contain sulfure in these molecules.
Diet which is adequate in protein meets the daily requirement of sulfur.
